The Role
You'll join the Digital Solutions Team as a Junior Architect, reporting to the Head of Architecture. Working alongside highly experienced team members you will be contributing to the design and delivery of complex IT systems to enable submarines and submariners go to sea safely.

What you'll do:

  • On the job learning of all aspects of Architecture, through academic learning, mentoring and hands on experience with the support of an experienced architecture team.
  • With guidance and support from fellow architects, deliver high quality, design documentation for software, hardware, and connectivity as part of a project team.
  • Champion and promote the importance of good architecture practices.
  • Support end-to-end project delivery by clearly communicating the scope and impact of changes within the context of the business.
  • Actively support the architecture team in evolving practices and process by contributing to team roadmaps, design principles and assets.

What you'll need:

  • HNC (level 4) or equivalent in Computer Science or related subject.
  • Demonstrable experience of involvement in complex projects with a design focus.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex projects and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work autonomously.
  • A drive to own and shape your career development journey.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
