Summary

Work with the Clinical Lead for Imaging Digital Systems, IM&T Teams, Radiology Directorate Manager and other members of Radiology team to develop and implement service improvement made possible by PACS/CRIS/CR/DR systems. Determine and implement work practice in Radiology to adhere to broad guidelines and From DoH regarding PACS/CRIS issues e.g. data sharing.Take responsibility for the day-to-day organisation and maintenance of PACS and its data.Manage communication between the Radiology Department, Trust IT Department, PACS and CR/DR equipment suppliers, coordinating system upgrades and new developments.Maintain an accurate log of PACS and CR/DR assets showing their current performance status and system information.(IP address, location, reference number, etc). Monitor and maintain procedures for recording faults.Develop and regularly update disaster recovery and contingency plans in case of equipment failure. Implement when necessary and assist in data recovery. conjunction with CRIS manager, PACS Team and IT Helpdesk, provide technical knowledge on IT problem solving and fault resolution to include Pcs and other system peripherals monitoring faults to identify problem areas. This will be done using OpenView.Act as a liaison between modality leads, radiologists, radiographers, clerical staff and CRIS/PACS and CR/DR supplier.Manage and administer, together with CRIS manager, PACS Team and supplier, system operations including interfaces and attached devices, printing, housekeeping, archiving and ensuring daily backup of critical servers are being performed.Develop and participate in QA programmes for CRIS/PACS to monitor system performance.Work with the Radiology Governance Lead radiographer to develop QA programme for CR/DR equipment and to ensure display monitor quality is maintained.Participate in clinical audit.Develop strategies to monitor and improve data quality.Monitor staff competence and provide further training when necessary.Work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines.Deal with problems and informal complaints to prevent escalation to serious/formal ones. Liaise with P.A.L.S. as required. Assist with formal replies to formal complaints when necessary.To perform radiography as required in keeping with Departmental protocols This is expected to be an average of 2 days per month.To set high standards of radiography as determined by Standard Procedures and Directorate Policies.To be responsible for the correct care of patients attending for diagnostic imaging.To ensure Picture Archive Communication Systems (PACS) images are in keeping with standards required in department protocols.To assess a radiological referral is relevant in keeping from Ionising Radiation Medical Exposure Regulations (IRMER) 2018.Have a high level of dexterity, correlation and sensory skills and a high level of coordination in order to do complex physical skills to manipulate patients safely for positioning and equipment with precision on a daily basis.To be able to demonstrate a high degree of physical co-ordination in order to be able to use keyboard skills to manipulate images and for data entry. Have high visual skills for imaging interpretation.
