About the role:

The Faculty of Science & Engineering is seeking applications from highly motivated, well-organised and proactive administrators for the post of Senior Support Administrator within the School of Biological and Marine Sciences.

This is a part-time, permanent position, working 18.5 hours a week. You will be required to work Monday and Tuesday 8.30 - 5.00pm and Wednesday 8.30 - 12.00noon.

We regret that there is no opportunity to work from home in this position.

You will play a key role by providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support for the School Management Team and co-ordinating the administrative support within the school. Promoting a customer service culture, you will thrive in a varied and fast paced role.

The key skills and qualities of a Senior Support Administrator:

• Excellent organisation and people management skills
• Experience of supporting senior staff
• Strong IT / Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility and customer centricity
• Ability to prioritise and multitask efficiently
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to scrutinise existing processes and practices, contributing to service improvements

About You:

Qualifications: You will have FE level qualifications or evidence of experience at this level.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
Experience: Significant administrative experience and demonstrable experience of Microsoft Office packages and digital skills. Experience of working in either student administration, or marketing for the purpose of student recruitment, within an educational environment would be helpful but is not essential.
