Summary

NETWORK SPECIALIST LONDON 2-3x a Week CISCO EXPERIENCED REQUIRED

Overview

Responsible for planning, designing, developing, and the launch of efficient operation of all network systems to support core organisational functions; this includes all Projects, Continual Service Improvement, and BAU activities

Application of proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve systems issues to maximise the benefit of the IT environments

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the strategic design and implementation of the Network infrastructure to ensure its high availability as well as own and manage service improvement plans
  • Provide 3rd line IT support and act upon and resolve incidents escalated to the team in a timely manner
  • Assist in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new services and enhancements to existing services within Networking
  • Ownership of systems used for monitoring, backups, disaster recovery and security patching for Network infrastructure
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability on computing systems
  • Proactively assist in the design and implementation of long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining the Network
  • Maintain availability of Production systems to agreed service levels
  • Resolve issues escalated to the Network team from the Service Desk and other support teams within agreed timescales
  • Adhere to all Service Management processes (Incident, Service Request, Change, Problem & CSI)

The following technical requirements are essential for this role:

  • Strong technical skills and knowledge with Cisco networking, routing (BGP, EIGRP), L2/L3/FCoE switching, VSS, wireless and VPN.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge with Cisco hardware, specifically Catalyst 6807, 9600, 3850, 9300 switches, ISR 4000 series routers, Nexus 9000 FCoE and UCS 6296 Fabric switches.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge in Cisco security: Cisco ISE, ASA, FTD and FMC.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical troubleshooting ability in Cisco IOS and NX-OS operating systems.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge in network management: Cisco DNA, ThousandEyes, Solarwinds, IPAM and Netflow.
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • Excellent knowledge of Cisco UCS and UCS-X
  • Proven experience of 3rd /4th line network support.
  • Cisco Call Manager and MS Team Voice experience.
  • LLD and HLD document creation. The following technical requirements are desired for this role
