We have an exciting career opportunity for an Internal Sales Manager to join our successful Rent-a-Car business within VWFS for a fixed term contract until March 2025. The successful candidate should be dedicated to securing business from National Corporate and Flexi-Rent sized prospects and existing customers (typically 1-25 vehicles, non-regulated) predominately through digital and telephony-based sales strategies and techniques.

The role of Internal Sales Manager will be required to build and nurture strong relationships with the Rent-a-Car customer base with the aim of identifying account growth opportunities, increasing renewals, promoting VWFS and upselling our value-added products and services.

The ideal candidate will have Rental product knowledge and excellent customer service skills, along with the ability to build rapport, provide information, sell and promote products over the telephone.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Make quality high volume outbound calls to corporate Fleet prospects, following-up marketing qualified leads in a timely manner, with the aim to introduce the services of VWFS | Fleet and to deliver a cases/additions target (>500 p.a.) at agreed margin levels from existing and new customers
  • Make quality high volume outbound calls to existing corporate Fleet customers with an aim to secure additional vehicles and undertake renewal discussions
  • Remotely account manage a portfolio of existing customers, increasing VWFS fleet and wallet share and maintaining a strong service relationship
  • Add value at every sales and customer touch point and ensure customers receive appropriate information to make informed decisions whilst maximising every business opportunity.
  • Maintain high level Fleet product knowledge and recognise the features and benefits of the Corporate Flexi-Rent product and associated methods of funding.
  • Source leads for and from our Rental Location network in order to ensure replacement vehicles are ordered and delivered.
  • Ensure customer account records within relevant systems are created and maintained in accordance with VWFS policy and procedure.
  • Use MI and own judgement to identify opportunities for call backs or renewals and diarise call backs appropriately.
  • Accurately update details of account activity and diarise call backs using our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Work to KPI's as set by the Rental Sales Performance Manager and be efficient at general sales administration to ensure maximum customer contact time.
  • Working within agreed authority levels (i.e. pricing) set by the Mobility Services Director and Rental Sales Performance Manager, taking ownership of the sales process but referring to higher authority when required.
  • Identify fleet service opportunities beyond 25 vehicles and introduce the appropriate National Rental Sales Manager.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven internal sales management experience - essential
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Fleet products and Rental
  • Previous experience of sales, telephone account management or telesales with high volume outbound calling
  • Driven and ambitious individual with a strong desire to succeed and comfortable with stretching sales targets
  • Confident and professional telephone manner.
  • Accurate data capture with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management with a tenacious, resilient, self-motivated attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication ability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer services focus; passionate about customers.
  • A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to react appropriately and effectively to changing circumstances and demands.
