Summary

Our Procurement Team have a vacancy for a Service Support Assistant. The role is on a full-time, fixed term contract basis for a period of approximately 18 months. This exciting opportunity will suit individuals that are highly motivated, ambitious and self-driven.
The Procurement Team works with both our internal Council Services and our external suppliers to ensure we continue to maximise value for money in our tender processes. This is done whilst ensuring compliance with UK Procurement legislation and the Council’s Contract Procedure Rules.
Whilst not essential, you will preferably have experience of working in a Procurement or Purchasing environment.
As a Service Support Assistant your main duties will be to ensure established purchasing and procurement procedures are followed. You will liaise with our internal customers to provide appropriate advice, support and guidance and undertake any necessary actions to ensure payments to our suppliers are timely. You will work closely with our suppliers to ensure they undertake necessary actions to ensure prompt payment.
All candidates will have a positive attitude, work well under pressure and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
