Qualifications
- Registered (RN/RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) qualification
- Valid and clear registration with the NMC or HCPC
- Proven experience in a Scrub role (Minimum 6 months)
- Comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and sterile techniques
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating theatre for surgeries by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and properly sterilized
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, retractor, and other necessary items
- Monitor patients throughout the surgical process, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care and positive surgical outcomes
- Provide support and guidance to less experienced staff members
