Summary


We are looking for an enthusiastic physiotherapist, exercise physiologist, or exercise instructor who has a passion for delivering individual and group exercise training as well as delivering group education. We are providing face-to-face and home-based exercise programmes.

You will be working closely with our MDT of Specialist Nurses and Highly Specialist Counselling Psychologist helping with the assessment of patients and with the provision of exercise classes. You should hold BACPR level 4
qualification as well as experience with functional capacity testing and cardiac rehabilitation clients.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in an exciting time for Cardiac Rehabilitation as we rebuild and investigate different modalities to
deliver the service to ensure the widest range of patients benefit from this essential intervention for those living with cardiac disease.

The successful applicant will predominantly be based within the cardiac rehabilitation service at RFH delivering assessing, exercising, and educating patients post their cardiac event/diagnosis.

You will be responsible for running the exercise sessions for cardiac rehab and claudication patients. This will include:
• Delivering group circuit type exercise sessions and individual gym programmes as per BACPR guidelines for patients with specific consideration and reference to their past and current medical condition and personal goals
• Screening and carrying out health assessments for phase II patients referred to phase III and IV including exercise capacity tests.
• Ensuring safe and effective delivery of exercise programmes
• Advising and motivating referred clients on a suitable exercise programme
• Liaising closely with Cardiac Rehab Psychologist and Specialist Nurses and conduct exercise sessions as part of Phase III rehabilitation.
• Utilizing monitoring and evaluating systems already in place, contributing to the collating data and periodical review of effectiveness of the programme.
• Following departmental and trust policies with regards to documentation of all patient interventions and conversations.
• Acting as an effective role model promoting excellence through practice.
