JOB DESCRIPTION

Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a happy 12 year old girl living in the Tonypandy area with my family. I have a diagnosis of ASD & ADHD. I am physically fit and have no mobility issues. I don’t like the feel of certain materials. I also don’t like loud noises and I will wear ear defenders when I am feeling overwhelmed by sound. I can occasionally display challenging behaviours, but can be managed through redirection and distraction techniques.

I enjoy playing with sensory toys and with my iPad. I like McDonalds, super noodles, pizza and tangerines. I enjoy going to techniquest, cinema, bowling and swimming.

PURPOSE OF JOB

Personal Assistant to support me in the community and with accessing activities.

HOURS OF WORK

4.5 hours per week

To be worked after school or the weekend

RATES OF PAY

£12.00 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

v Support me with social outings and community activities safety and appropriately

v Driving me in your car

v Act as a friend/companion

v Ensure my safety at all times

v Any other reasonable tasks

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

v Reliable, trustworthy & punctual

v Friendly and chatty

v Someone who is active with a youthful attitude

v Someone with an understanding of my conditions

v Car driver/owner with business class insurance

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly and appropriate holiday pay given.

The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).

The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
