Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Inquest Lead. This is a full time role working within the Trust's busy Legal Services Department, supporting the Head of Legal Services.

It will be based at Fairfield General Hospital but there will be some requirement to travel to other sites and to Coroner's Court.

Assist the Head of Legal Services in the delivery of the corporate objectives for investigation of incidents and management of inquests.

Support the implementation and understanding of the policy and procedures for incident investigation and inquests.

Provide support and reassurance to staff involved in H M Coroner Inquests using specialised knowledge and experience.

Support the NCA Care Organisations in the coordination and preparation of investigations specifically related to inquests.

Undertake specific quality improvement projects in line with Trust priorities related to inquests as identified by the Head of Legal Services.

Provide expertise and advice for staff in the function and use of the Datix modules for inquests.

Support the Head of Legal Services and Governance Teams, in the development of systems and projects to improve and share learning across the organisation

To participate in raising the profile of patient safety throughout the organisation.

Supervise and develop administrative staff within the Inquest Team.

To attend and contribute to designated Care Organisation led meetings, as agreed with the Head of Legal Services.
