Personal Assistant required for 6 hours per week during term time, and 16 hours during the school holidays, to support Filip a 15 year-old-boy with Autism
A Personal Assistant (P.A.) is required in the LS15 area to support Filip, a 15-year-old boy, who has been diagnosed with Autism. Filip has social and communication difficulties, sensory processing difficulties, severe learning disabilities and hypermobility. He requires support with personal care needs, such as toileting and dressing, and assistance/prompting with feeding. The P.A. aims to help Filip in accessing local community activities and learning to socialize within the wider community.Filip is a happy verbal boy, with a pleasant disposition and likes books, music, lights, going to local parks, swimming and walks. He must be closely supervised at all times due to his tendency to run off, his potentially challenging behaviours, and his lack of sense of danger and road safety.

Filip requires a P.A. for a total of 6 hours a week during term time and 16 hours during school holidays. During term time the 6 hours will be used at the weekends and during school holidays the 16 hours will be used throughout the whole week. School holiday hours are flexible and can be discussed with Sandra (Mum).Experience of having worked with children/young people with Special Educational Needs (S.E.N.) is preferable. Demonstratable knowledge of the support strategies of S.E.N. is essential in the following areas: thinking, understanding, learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties, speech, language, communication, sensory and/or physical challenges.
