Salary: £32,217 - £48,516
Hours: 35 per week

Sighthill is looking for committed and enthusiastic individual to work collaboratively as a member of the school team, covering a maternity leave in our P6 class. They will be responsible for the teaching, learning, assessment and wellbeing needs of the pupils in their care. They will ensure that all pupils can effectively access their learning in an inclusive, safe and nurturing environment with every opportunity to reach their full potential.

Sighthill is situated in an area of multiple deprivation and all our staff must be confident in managing distressed behaviours and supporting additional support needs. The school team is dedicated to increasing the life chances of our school family and as a result the expectations are high for all team members, including confidence in supporting Outdoor Learning experiences. We see this as a key strategy to support inclusion, to raise attainment for all and to improve the health and wellbeing of our pupils.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
