Summary

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering seeks a Teaching Assistant to join our leading EEE Department, where they will contribute to and support a wide range of teaching activities.

A significant area of responsibility will be in supporting the project-based learning modules delivered to Year 1 and Year 2 EEE students. Within this element of the role, the successful applicant will be expected to work proactively and collaboratively within wider teams to deliver a stimulating laboratory based learning experience for students.

Primary duties within this major aspect of the role will be to supervise project laboratories, while also providing support to students outside of these sessions, the development of both teaching and assessment materials, as well as marking and providing feedback on student work.

The successful applicant will possess an extensive knowledge and skills in electronic circuit design, construction and testing, as well as substantive experience of computer / microprocessor programming.

The successful applicant will also support other EEE teaching activities, which may include the preparation and delivery of technical problem classes, developing and supporting coursework exercises and assessing student work.

This post is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours); however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 18.125 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Finally, the successful applicant will also be expected to specify and then supervise projects suitable for final year undergraduate and MSc students.

Interviews, which will include a lab-based assessment, are expected to take place on University Park Campus, Nottingham in late October or early November 2024.
