Join Thanet District Council's passionate Domestic Energy Team team as a Domestic Energy Assistant and become an integral part of our mission to save residents money and promote energy efficiency across the district. We are the largest energy advice service in local government in the county, with a reputation for delivering meaningful change for people. In this role, you'll work alongside our dedicated Sustainable Energy Projects Lead helping residents navigate energy-saving solutions, reducing CO2 emissions, and contributing to our efforts in addressing the Climate Change Emergency as set out in Thanet’s new corporate plan.

Main Duties and Tasks:

Efficiently manage the advice/referral service, liaising with residents, tenants, leaseholders, landlords, and referral agencies.
Generate leads and promote energy-saving services to referral organisations.
Handle day-to-day communication of the referral service via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
Complete referrals for measures such as cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, heating repairs/boiler replacement, and low-carbon technology.
Ensure accurate paperwork completion to maximise grants and savings for residents.
Assist in organising and conducting community advice sessions and events to promote awareness of energy-saving initiatives.
Develop case studies for ongoing analysis of the Home Energy service and recommend improvements as necessary.
Manage ordering and stock levels of promotional materials.
Provide up-to-date monitoring and evaluation of the advice service, collecting and maintaining accurate records of referrals made.
Liaise with utility companies, local charities, and statutory bodies to maximise service impact and funding opportunities.
Due to the nature of this role, this post requires a basic DBS check.
