Senior Strategy Manager - Site Operations
The Role
Senior Strategy Manager - Site Operations will play a critical strategic role to develop and promote organisational synergy and strong operational performance across global Hop and Editions. This role will develop and deliver effective operational process and coordination across the global business units, whilst driving operational excellence and efficiency.
The primary objectives of the role will be to create and implement strategic business processes; identify ongoing opportunities for operational improvement; enhance cross-functional alignment and communication; and drive overall business operational excellence to improve the profitability of the business units and customer outcomes.
The role will include Programme Management responsibilities for internal and cross-departmental projects to ensure strategic alignment across business units. They will be responsible for owning and evolving standard operating procedures to drive best practice. This will include advising and supervising SOP owners across the business units to write new policies, processes and procedures, as well as to refine existing ones.
More broadly, this role will identify strategic opportunities to align Hop and Editions strategy with Grocery and wider Deliveroo organisational business goals and objectives.
Above all, the role requires the strategic vision, resilience and adaptability to work in a fast-paced and ever evolving global business environment.
Responsibilities:
Operations Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive business coordination strategy to align Deliveroo’s global HOP and Editions business units and promote synergy across departments.Support the development and execution of a comprehensive long term operational strategy, aligned with the wider company goals and objectives.Organisational Alignment: Act as a liaison between global business units, facilitating the exchange of information, resources, and expertise to achieve organisational objectives. Identify and resolve conflicts or bottlenecks that may impede the smooth operation of global business units. Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing across business units, encouraging cross-pollination of ideas and best practice.Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Design and Reporting: Define key performance indicators and metrics to measure operational performance. Design standardised reporting mechanisms to track performance against established targets. Organise and facilitate regular cross-functional meetings, ensuring active participation and effective decision-making among stakeholders - Specifically WBRs, Monthly Metric Reviews, QBRs and other ad-hoc cross-departmental alignment meetings. Policy and Process Optimisation: Analyse existing operational policies and processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline and improve business processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Risk Management: Identify potential operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Implement risk management frameworks and protocols to ensure business growth, continuity and resilience.
Project and Initiative Management: Lead large, complex projects for Site Operations, ensuring successful execution and delivery within defined timelines and budgets. Drive and oversee transformational initiatives across the business units, aligning these projects with the wider business long term goals and objectives. Ensure seamless integration of transformation initiatives cross-departmentally.
Requirements:
Operational expertise and cross-functional knowledge.
Strong understanding of the global business dynamics, and experience working in a global environment.
Proven experience overseeing process development, improvement and implementation, and business coordination.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex situations, frame them simply to stakeholders, and make sound decisions.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
Strong project management skills, with the proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver results within established timelines.
