Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, 08:00 - 16:30
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 2-3 months
City: BRISTOL
Candidates will be required to have access to a suitable vehicle, to be able to move between the various sites. A mileage rate will be paid at the appropriate rate.
Following training that will establish and award “competency” on the “TRADA” Fire door inspection process, the team will complete fire door inspections, tagging doors with “QR” codes for identification purposes, and recording the inspections and compliance outcome specifying any remedial works, within compliance app to ensure they link with the installation and maintenance data to meet the building safety compliance and TRADA audit requirements.
Door sets already tagged will require a basic 13 point inspection carried out and the findings added to a short form on the Fire Door Manager app. 2 photos need to be taken (inside and outside of each door) and uploaded along with a list of any remediation works for any faults identified.
The requirement is for fire doors to be inspected by a competent person and sets out that front entrance doors are inspected at least annually, and that communal doors are inspected on a quarterly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting thorough fire door inspections using provided templates and in accordance with relevant regulations, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Fire Safety Act 2021, and the Fire Safety (England Regulations 2022).
Supporting customers in ensuring their fire doors meet fire safety standards.
Working directly with Responsible Persons to address and provide solutions for fire doors failures.
Qualifications:
Relevant fire door inspection qualifications, these must be either - Awarding Body for Building Education (ABBE) Level 3 Award in Fire Door Inspection or FDIS (Fire Door Inspection Scheme) Certified Inspector Course.
Registration with or willingness to register with the National Association of Fire Door Inspectors (NAFDI) or the FDIS Certified Fire Door Inspector Register
Knowledge:
Up to date knowledge of current housing related legislation
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fire safety-related role.
Ideally, experience conducting fire door inspections in both residential and commercial premises.
Experience of working with High Rise Residential buildings.
Skills & Abilities:
Competency in conducting fire door inspections.
