Summary


The department requires a Senior Urology Fellow who has an interest in all aspects of minimally invasive therapies, laparoscopy, robotic surgery and Endourology.

The post will support the service, which provides a comprehensive elective and emergency service to residents of Tower Hamlets and East London. This post will support the Upper Tract Benign Robotic Urology service (SCRUBS), while providing the post-holder with an opportunity to have supervised clinical sub-speciality training and perform research related to the service.

The postholder will be closely co-operating with the Upper Tract Laparoscopy and Robotics Consultants, Stone Consultants, the Specialist Registrars, and the junior doctors of the team.

The Urology department at the Royal London Hospital (part of Barts Health NHS Trust) has six Consultants, four Specialist Registrars, 5 Clinical Fellows (SHO level) and 2 Senior Fellows.

The post is tenable for an initial period of 12 months extendable to 24 months.

The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service. The duties of this post include:

Working with the Upper Tract Laparoscopy, Robotics and Stone Consultants, the Specialist Registrar and the SHO’s as part of a team to deliver the service on a shift rota, including out-of- hours work (up to 20 hours per week).
