Summary
Position Overview
• The Kokni Community Centre, Masjid and Madrasa, Luton (KCL) require one temporary Religious Worker on a 1 year’s fixed Term Contract (25 hrs per week) who has knowledge and experience in the traditional and religious background of Muslim Shaafi doctrine.
• Applicants must have extensive previous proven experience, must be strictly of a Shaafi Doctrine sect due to the religious requirements of the community we serve, constitutional requirements and nature of the job.
• Preference will be given to applicants who are British Citizens and Permanent Residents.
Key Responsibilities
• To assist and support the Head Imam to lead and perform the sacrament of religious events, tending to the community, needy, and elderly members of the Muslim Shaafi Community.
• Assist in performing such rituals with the supervision of the Head Imam.
• Assist in teaching children Islamic Education according to Shaafi doctrine.
• Assist the Head Imam with the daily chores and assist in organising various religious events at the Mosque/ Masjid, including conducting religious weddings.
• To assist the Head Imam and trustees with the smooth functioning and running of the Mosque/ Masjid.
Qualifications
• A minimum of two years of previous experience of teaching Shafi Doctrine of Islam to children and community
• Must be a Hafiz and proficient in English (reading, writing and speaking)
• Trained and skilled in the rites and practices set out in the Muslim Shafi tradition performing religious duties
