We are looking for an experienced Distributed Control System Operator who would like to join our team based in Chilton.



As a DCS Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Energy Recovery Facility, managing a shift team and day operations staff.

You will work on a rotating shift pattern that includes weekends and Public Holidays, providing shift rota cover as required to ensure continuous operation of the Energy Recovery Facility.

What you'll be doing;

  • Support the Shift Team leader with Health and Safety matters and use Safe System Of Work effectively to ensure safety of all personnel,contractors and visitors at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the site Environmental Permit.
  • Represent Company management outside normal office hours.
  • Operate / monitor plant from a Central Control Room, operate plant and equipment as required by the operational demands of the ERF.
  • Provide technical supervision and assistance where necessary for Company and contract staff engaged in work at the ERF.
  • Provide effective training and monitoring of othershift staff to ensure personnel are competent to undertake their duties.
  • Provide effective administration and application of safe systems of work and Health And Safety policies.
  • To be aware of and work within the Company Health & Safety, Environmental andQuality Systems.
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by management.



What we're looking for;

  • An experienced operator from a Power station background,ideally having completed a recognised Power station Operational Apprenticeship/ Training.
  • An understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues
  • Knowledge of Regulatory requirements
  • IOSH passport safely certificate or equivalent
  • Broad experience gained through shift working in a continuous process industry,preferably in a Waste Incineration environment
  • Ability to ensure adherence with procedures
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels and produce clear, concise reports.
