Summary

Job Title: ST3+ (or equivalent) Clinical Fellow with interest in Maternal Medicine Specialty/Department: Obstetrics & Gynaecology Location: Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Leeds, West Yorkshire Duration: 6 months + with possibility of extension to 2 years BACKGROUND TO THE POST An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic doctor to join the current Obstetrics and Gynaecology team as a clinical fellow at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The service is delivered through four sites: St James University Hospital (SJUH), Leeds General Infirmary (LGI), Wharfdale General Hospital and Seacroft Hospital. This is a non-training post, however, it allows the post holder, including applicants who already hold CCT, to gain experience that will help to secure future posts. Almost all the sub-specialities in Obstetrics and Gynaecology are provided for at our centre. As a Maternal Medicine Centre our service leads on the provision of specialist care to high-risk women across Yorkshire and Humber through a large selection of MDT clinics (diabetes, endocrinology, cardiology, haematology, rheumatology, renal, gastro-intestinal and maternal medicine clinics). The successful candidate will be given dedicated sessions to work in these clinics, as well as have an opportunity to be involved in local and regional MDT meetings, QI projects and service development. Following recent national restructuring of maternal medicine services, Leeds is one of only two Maternal Medicine Centres in Yorkshire with a large catchment area offering preconception and maternity care to very high risk women across the region. Working here will therefore give the successful candidate an excellent learning opportunity and expertise in the management of women with significant medical problems.
