Summary

We’re currently seeking a talented individual to join us as an Employment Advisor representing Pluss at an employer’s site.

This role manages the day-to-day delivery of the supportive internship model ‘Project Search’ which provides young adults (Interns), with Learning Disabilities, support to complete their Internship (placement) and secure paid employment in either the host organisation or another place of work.

As the first point of contact for interns, with the employer, this role works in partnership with key stakeholders and is responsible for recruiting interns, matching them to appropriate placement rotations and supporting interns in their placements and to progress to secure paid employment.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in coaching, mentoring and working with and training people with disabilities. You’ll support Interns with employment training skills, including completing application forms, CV’s, self-presentation and interview techniques. You’ll need to be able to engage with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.

We’re not looking for someone who ticks every box, just so long as you have an engaging personality, are comfortable working with a diverse group of people, and can provide a warm and welcoming experience to help our Interns in their first steps back into employment.

Key Responsibilities


Working remotely from other Pluss colleagues, under the supervision of the Business Manager, and in conjunction with Project Search partners the successful individual will be responsible for:



The delivery of the performance target, which is to ensure that all Interns on the programme secure sustainable paid employment (both supported/unsupported) within the Host Company and/or External Employers at the end of the programme.
Managing the identification and recruitment process of eligible Interns
Undertaking in-depth assessments using a suite of tools to fully understand a customer’s circumstances, preferences and holistic barriers to progression.
Co-producing vocational profiling to identify skills, strengths, preferences and support needs, including assisting in compiling application forms and recording of medical information.


Skills and Experience


Essential

Experience of working with and training people with multiple and complex needs, including health conditions and disabilities
Experience of securing employment opportunities for a wide range of individuals

Desirable

Diploma/certificate in Supported Employment or equivalent experience
Level 3 IAG or working towards
TSI (or willingness to train for it)
Knowledge & experience of utilising methodologies and techniques in training/coaching individuals with Learning Disabilities
Experience of employment of disadvantaged job seekers
Knowledge of barriers to employment for people with disabilities and how to overcome them
