Would you like to support individuals in achieving a healthier lifestyle?
Are you passionate, motivated, enthusiastic and driven?
We are an innovative, secure, inpatient unit that provides treatment for individuals with mental illness who have a history of offending and have had contact with the criminal justice system.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to fulfil the position of Clinical Exercise Instructor at River House on the Bethlem Royal Hospital in Beckenham. The role is exciting and challenging- you will work alongside Clinical Exercise Instructors within an Occupational Therapy team.
We will support you to develop professionally. You will receive training and support from experienced clinicians and will have access to a peer learning and support forum. You will also be expected to participate in regular supervisions and annual appraisals with your line manager to evaluate your professional progress and review your personal development plans.
Alongside multi professional teams of Nurses, Doctors, Social workers, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists and working with service users, you will plan and facilitate a programme of sport and exercise aimed at supporting healthier lifestyles.
You will work with patients with complex mental health needs, providing individual and groups exercise sessions for male and female patients, that focus on their personal goals and aspirations. You may also need to promote your profession and support staff access to the sports facilities within the unit through an induction process. You will be required to work flexible hours and this will include evenings and weekends.
You will support health promotion programmes which will help individuals to make informed decisions in relation to their health, weight, diet and activity levels, contributing towards healthier lifestyles and improved activity levels.
