Summary

You will lead,on behalf of the Chief of Defence Intelligence, the coordination and delivery of all requests requiring the disclosure of information to Inquiries, Judicial Reviews, Personal Injury Claims, Inquests, SIAC cases, War Crimes, as well as other litigation and investigative work. Working In Policy and Secretariat alongside the Parliamentary Branch to assure alignment with the Ministerial Briefings to MoD Minister and wider Members of Parliament. Assuring that FOI disclosure is conducted within the necessary time frames and in accordance with the legal requirements placed on MoD.

Your main duties will be to:

Line management, mentoring and countersigning tasks as required by the role. This role currently has 1 direct report, a Disclosure Officer HEO Role.
Complete personal learning and development and upskilling as required.
On behalf of DI, lead on Inquiries, Judicial Reviews, Personal Injury Claims, Inquests, SIAC cases, War Crimes, as well as other litigation and investigative work. Assuring timely disclosure of relevant and proportionate information while maintaining the integrity of National Security.
Coordinate and Provide guidance on FOI, and Press Enquiries on behalf of DI, working with and coordinating DI Staff engagement on the matter. Assuring the deadline set in law or by external parties are appropriately negotiated and met
Provide redaction advice on Subject Access Request, assuring DI SMEs are able to comment and then justify redactions in line with Legal requirements and the interests of National Security.
Act as DDC Focal Point for all Press related engagement within Defence Intelligence, assuring that alongside the Parliamentary Team the outward facing disclosure is aligned with Ministerial Briefing, and maintains the National Security of DI’s work.
