Summary

The Senior Membership Coordinator is responsible for driving the growth and retention of membership at The Textile Institute (TI). This role is crucial in ensuring that TI’s membership base—both Individual and Corporate expands across all disciplines in textiles, clothing, and footwear worldwide. The Coordinator will engage with internal and external stakeholders, promoting the benefits of membership and supporting the overall objectives of the Institute.

The Senior Membership Coordinator will oversee and coordinate membership services, ensuring a high level of member satisfaction and engagement. This role requires strong organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will be responsible for streamlining membership processes, optimising workflows, and supporting the overall goals of the Institute.

Reporting directly to the CEO and working with members of the organisation from around the world and external clients, this is an exciting time and opportunity to join TIIHQ and work with a small and dynamic team with an international reach. This is primarily an office-based role although and there is also some hybrid working and the opportunity to travel both in the UK and overseas.

Key responsibilities include:
• Serve as the primary contact for all members, both Individual and Corporate worldwide, ensuring strong communication and support. Act as the main point of contact for all members, providing assistance and support as and when required.
• Recruit new members and retain existing ones across the global textile supply chain by developing and implementing strategies to attract new members and keep current members engaged and satisfied.
• Administrate all aspects of membership, from enrolment to renewal, overseeing the entire membership lifecycle to ensure smooth processes for new member enrolments, renewals, and cancellations.
• Maintain accurate membership records, handle membership queries, and coordinate member benefits using CRM systems, spreadsheets, various databases, and software systems. Ensure all member information is up-to-date and accurate.
• Handle member inquiries and resolve any membership issues in a timely manner, addressing and resolving any problems or concerns members may have to ensure their satisfaction.
• Engage with sections, Special Interest Groups (SIGs), colleges, universities, and industry professionals to promote membership, building relationships with various groups and institutions to promote the benefits of membership and encourage new sign-ups.
• Interact effectively with members, understand their needs, and address their concerns by communicating with members to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Articulate the value and benefits of membership and address any inquiries or issues members may have by clearly communicating the advantages of membership and resolving any questions or concerns.
• Encourage renewals and upgrade existing memberships by persuading members to renew their memberships and consider upgrading to higher levels of membership.
• Develop and implement strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones by creating and executing plans to grow the membership base and keep current members engaged.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that members’ needs are met and that their experience with the organisation is both positive and beneficial.
• Produce confidential letters, emails, reports, general documentation, electronic presentations, and review documentation as required by creating and reviewing various types of documents as needed.
• Act as Secretary to the Membership Committee, liaising with the Chair to set meeting dates, ensuring that all documentation is provided to committee members in a timely fashion, arranging and being present at meetings to provide support, and taking the minutes of the meeting.
• Generate and analyse membership data to provide statistical information and reports that inform strategic decisions and track progress. Monitor trends and offer insights to management to guide strategic planning.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to create strategies for member recruitment and engagement to implement strategies for attracting and engaging members.
• Deal with incoming correspondence and enquiries with discretion and courtesy.
• Develop copy for both printed and digital materials by writing content for various materials, including brochures, newsletters, magazines, social media, and online content.
• Collate and send information for email marketing and social media campaigns, as well as promotional literature for prescribed departments by gathering and distributing information for marketing campaigns and promotional materials.
• Oversee the membership pages on the website, ensuring they are up-to-date and user-friendly, collaborating with web developers as needed for updates and improvements. Manage the membership section (including MyTI) of the website, ensuring it is current and easy to navigate.
• Maintain content calendars, schedule posts, respond to membership comments/messages, and monitor social media metrics to track performance and engagement.
• Administer, create, and analyse digital surveys for the department.
• Work with the CEO to complete annual tasks and ensure that membership targets are met.
