Summary
Escape Recruitment is excited to present an excellent opportunity for a skilled Design Engineer to join our client's innovative team in Dunfermline. This position involves innovative design while adhering to industry standards, contract specifications, and company procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Design Development: Create new conceptual designs or modify existing ones for various proposals or projects based on customer or internally generated specifications. Prepare comprehensive design layouts.
- Design Verification: Use classical analysis techniques (such as bending, buckling, shear, bearing, and pressure vessel analysis) and numerical analysis methods to validate designs.
- Internal Reviews: Present designs to the engineering team during internal reviews, prepare part specifications, and review detailed drawings. Select appropriate raw materials, coatings, and quality standards.
- Engineering Modifications: Implement necessary changes to product drawings and reports. Participate in investigations and resolutions of non-conformance's.
- Procedure Development: Create procedures for equipment assembly, testing, FAT, qualification, handling, storage, rework, maintenance, and commissioning as required.
- Departmental Support: Provide essential support to various internal departments (manufacturing, planning, QA, commercial, purchasing, assembly, etc.) throughout the product design and delivery phases.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Essential:
- Relevant Engineering Degree
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling
- Skills in Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Ability to solve basic problems and perform root cause analysis
- Background in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
- Experience with NX or similar 3D modeling software
- FEA skills in ANSYS
- Familiarity with lean tools such as A3, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, etc.

- Strong mechanical/structural design skills, with the ability to develop concepts and see them through to manufacturing release
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience in mechanical/structural design and analysis
