Summary


We are recruiting for a Senior Technical Specialist to work within the Technology Services sub-directorate at NHS England.

The purpose of Technology Services is to deliver Simple, Safe and Smart Solutions across the NHS.

The aims of Technology Services are to:
• Deliver the benefits of cost reduction of the operating cost of technology.
• Enable cost reduction across NHSE by streamlining processes that have become fossilised in legacy technologies.
• Enable better decision making in NHS England through a Modern Digital Workplace.
• Deliver a resilient and safe national technology infrastructure across the system.

We will change the relationship with the frontline, focussing on delivering the commodity-based capabilities that are needed, building platforms and communities to enable us all to benefit from innovation, and doing so upon robust, cost-efficient platforms and infrastructure.

The purpose of Infrastructure services is to ensure our services and systems are hosted effectively, securely and efficiently. We require an experienced and highly motivated Senior Technical Specialist to help us achieve this objective.

Delivers technical support and solutions for infrastructure within NHS England

· Manages relationships between Infrastructure Teams and internal/external stakeholders

· Supplier management to meet key performance indicators and agreed Service Levels for hosted systems

· Supporting the Services hosted in the Infrastructure on-premises and cloud environments

· Actively contribute to our technical and operational strategy using your specialist knowledge

· Pro-actively provides input and support to high severity incidents for the multiple critical national systems and environments supporting NHS Live Services.

· Manages and maintains own professional knowledge and development in their technical specialism and embraces development opportunities to support new technologies, frameworks and services including the move to Cloud.

These roles may be based in Leeds, London or Exeter
