Summary

Are you interested in working with nature, and have a passion for biodiversity and conservation? We have a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Assistant Park Warden to work on behalf of our client, a large public sector organisation, in a role where you will assist in the management and maintenance of beautiful nature reserves and walking trails through out Conwy.

In the Assistant Warden role, you will be:

  • Assisting with conservation and maintenance of nature reserves, including safety audits and local nature reserves
  • Supporting survey and monitoring activities, maintaining information systems
  • Conducting guided walks and events for the public and educational groups
  • Helping develop and promote walking trails and create interpretive materials
  • Enforcing site byelaws with tact and discretion
  • Responsible for cash handling and the regulations of country park sales stock for retail outlets

    To be considered for the Assistant Warden role, you will need:

    • Countryside management experience or similar including conservation and estate management
    • Species identification skills
    • To be self-motivated with time management skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, email, and Internet
    • English communication essential; Welsh desirable
    • Hold a full UK drivers’ licence and access to own vehicle

      This is a full-time temporary role working 5 out of 7 days per week. Working hours are typically from 9:00am to 5:30pm although flexibility will be required from the succesful candidate to work some weekends and evenings. In return you will receive a pay rate of £12.80 per hour + holiday pay and enhanced rates for weekend and bank holiday working.
