We are currently partnered with a leading company in the environmental sustainability and recycling industries, and are delighted to share an opportunity to recruit a Transport Supervisor to join their team in Daventry.

The Role

As the Transport Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the transport planning team, ensuring an excellent standard of customer service, and managing the fleet profit and loss costings.

You'll be managing a team of 19 bulker/arctic drivers and overseeing a small team of office based planning staff, ensuring KPIs and performance measures are achieved. You'll also play a key role in promoting a safety culture with the intention of achieving a zero harm workplace.

  • £35,000 - £40,000 DOE
  • Full-Time, Permanent
  • 40-hours per week, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and implement KPIS for cost, quality, service, absence and other relevant measures
  • Understand and review monthly P&L accounts
  • Identify and implement cost saving measures
  • Maximise vehicle utilisation and availability
  • Ensure your team of drivers are compliant with relevant policies and legislation
  • Ensure operational compliance with company tachograph policies
  • Ensure day-to-day operations consistently meet the requirements of all individual customer contracts
  • Proactively plan and monitor resource allocation

Key Requirements

Essential

  • In-depth experience in transport operations
  • Full knowledge of transport legislation
  • Experience supervising/managing a team
  • Strong IT literacy, particularly with MS office

Desirable

  • CPC National
  • Experience working in a unionised industry
