Location: Wiltshire (Melksham and Salisbury)
Salary: £53,600 (pro rata)
Hours: Part-time, minimum 22.5 hours per week
Requirements: Valid driving licence and access to a car
We need a part-time Clinical Psychologist to provide comprehensive therapeutic services to children in our care in Salisbury and Melksham, Wiltshire.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across four new children's homes, including an assessment home where we focus on identifying each child's unique needs.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Therapeutic Care: Deliver evidence-based therapeutic and psychologically led care, adhering to HCPC and BPS standards under supervision.
- Psychological Assessments: Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and prepare reports for children and young people in our care.
- Care Planning: Develop, write, and regularly review therapeutic care plans for children and young people in residential care and education.
- Individual Support: Manage a limited caseload, providing specialist psychological input to young people and teams in residential care and educational settings.
- Service Development: Contribute to the creation of a therapeutically informed service across our education and residential teams.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience working with children and young people, particularly those who have experienced trauma and have complex needs.
- Knowledge: Post-doctoral knowledge of applied psychology, including developmental lifespan psychology and models of psychopathology.
- Skills: Experience in the assessment and management of self-harm, risk, crisis management, and safeguarding. Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Qualifications: Practitioner doctorate or equivalent, accepted by the British Psychological Society, enabling HCPC registration. Knowledge of therapeutic practices and experience with sensory strategies.
- Professionalism: Ability to work independently with support from supervision, role model positive behaviours, and communicate effectively.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Requirements: Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
