Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Youth Offending Service (YOS) Probation Officer (Grade 6). As a YOS Probation Officer, you will be responsible for working with young offenders, providing support, guidance, and supervision to promote rehabilitation and reduce reoffending.

As a YOS Probation Officer, you will play a vital role in the lives of young people who have been involved in criminal activities. You will work with a diverse range of individuals, assessing their needs, and developing and implementing tailored support plans. You will provide guidance and advice on education, employment, and training opportunities, and ensure that they have access to the necessary services and resources to help them successfully reintegrate into society.

To excel in this role, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be working closely with young people, their families, and other professionals. You will need to be able to build trust and rapport, and be able to effectively manage challenging and potentially volatile situations. Patience, empathy, and resilience are key attributes that will contribute to your success in this role.

Responsibilities
Assess the individual needs, risks, and strengths of young offenders
Develop and implement individualized support plans
Provide guidance, supervision, and monitoring to young offenders
Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers, mental health professionals, and educational staff, to ensure a holistic approach to rehabilitation
Liaise with external agencies and organizations to coordinate services and support for young offenders
Conduct regular reviews and evaluate the progress of young offenders
Provide advice and guidance on education, employment, and training opportunities
Requirements
A relevant degree in criminal justice, social work, or a related field
Proven experience working with young people and/or offenders
Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to youth offending
Strong assessment and risk management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build positive relationships and engage with young people
Empathy and resilience in dealing with challenging situations
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel to various locations.

Hours Per Week: 35.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £18.10
