Description
The CYPF Support Officer - Grade D position is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment, providing support to children, young people, and their families. As a CYPF Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in promoting the well-being and development of children and young people, ensuring that they have access to the support and resources they need to thrive.
You will be responsible for working closely with families, schools, and other professionals to identify and address the needs of children and young people. This will involve conducting assessments, developing support plans, and coordinating services to ensure a holistic approach to their care.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and their families. You will need to be highly organized and able to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment, managing a caseload of children and young people with diverse needs.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people's needs, taking into account factors such as their developmental, emotional, and social needs.
Develop and implement support plans in collaboration with children, young people, and their families, ensuring their goals and aspirations are at the center of the planning process.
Coordinate and monitor the provision of services and resources to meet the needs of children and young people, ensuring appropriate referrals are made and progress is monitored.
Advocate for the rights and needs of children and young people, working within a multi-agency framework to ensure their voices are heard and their best interests are protected.
Provide information, advice, and support to parents and carers, empowering them to actively participate in their child's progress and development.
Collaborate with schools, health professionals, and external agencies to promote early intervention and prevent potential risks to children and young people's well-being.
Stay up to date with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance and best practice in all aspects of child and family support.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, psychology, or child development.
Proven experience working with children, young people, and families, ideally in a social care or educational setting.
Knowledge of child protection procedures, with the ability to assess and respond to safeguarding concerns appropriately.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective support plans based on individual needs.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and build rapport with a diverse range of individuals.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a changing environment.
Proficient IT skills, with the ability to use relevant software and systems to record and monitor information accurately.
