Summary
As theDeputy CNIO/ the post holder will provide professional nursingexpertiseforDigitalNursing. They will support providers and local systems to drive service improvement and work to ensure nursesand midwiveshave the knowledge and skills to practice and lead in a digitally enabled health and social care system, now and in the future and nursing practice is fully supportedusingdigital technology and data science.
They will be a credible clinical and digital nursing leader and will champion and uphold the values of the organisation, working closely with the nursing team and across the organisation’s directorates and regions.
The post holder will work as part of the DigitalNursingTeamwithin theDigital Clinical Informatics Teamin supporting delivery of national work in collaboration with the regions, service providers and suppliers in all settings.
• Develop an understanding of the gaps that currently exist within digital nursing, with specific focus on practice and research.
• Work with others to agree how best to deliver improvements that demonstrably drive quality (safety,effectivenessand experience) up.
• Form a strong link with all resulting work and organisationalobjectivesensuring alignment.
• Accountable for developing and delivering strategy, promotinginnovationand supporting operational excellence in the organisation. Working withhighly complexdata, facts and situations requiring analysis,interpretationsand comparisons on a range of options and making decisions on the most appropriate approach.
• Lead the digital nursingprogramme, ensuring alignment with the core digital nursing vision
• Develop plan for the delivery of the role’s responsibilities includingidentifyinginterdependencies, managing risks, modelling the potential impacts on the wider organisation,determiningresourcerequirementsand building in contingency where necessary.
• Contribute to the organisation’s strategic planning process and delivery of priorities and manages consequential adjustments to activities responsible for asrequired.

Work within the overall strategicobjectives, devise, implement andmonitorthe
strategy. Evaluate,interpretand locally implement best practice.
Ensure the development and management of relevant strategic plans.
Develop and champion new initiatives or projects that support and enable
digital nursing practice using evidence base as foundation.
Develop and implement qualitative and quantitative measures todetermine
performance against the organisational strategy. Report progress against the
strategy through personal representation at senior management forums and by
writtenreports toappropriate boardsand groups of staff.
• Present complex information on all aspects of function practice in a clear,understandableand audience-appropriate manner to senior management and board level groups.
• Ensure that best practice for digital nursing is developed and delivered at organisational and departmental levels. Challenge ways of working and persuade,motivateand influence other senior managers to realign their practice where necessary.
• Ensure a smooth transition through decision making process to the management of contracts.
Ensure thatan appropriate strategyis in line with businessobjectivesand are fully cascaded.
Personally lead,supportand contribute to formal negotiations with senior level staff from external stakeholders, providinga high levelof negotiatingexpertiseto secure the mostadvantageousarrangements.
Advise on innovative opportunities and support all departments in their strategies and programmes to maximise service benefits.
Oversee the tracking of progress against plans and transition milestones, ensuringappropriate processesare in place to flag issues,risksand concerns with the relevant stakeholders.
Work closely with the Heads of other Department or Directorate to ensure that units understand and adhere to rules and standards, intervening as appropriate.
Ensure the securing of value for money, givingdue considerationto all relevant factors including risk,qualityand other factors.
Devise, manage and update policies and procedures, ensuring the adoption of best practicemethodology, rules,standardsand thresholds. Disseminating these methodologies etc. to staff within the department and throughout the organisation.
