Crynodeb
We seek a motivated and dynamic radiotherapy physicist to support for all areas of the service including SRS, SABR, SGRT, brachytherapy, our radioiodine service and to participate in the roll out of projects.
You will join a team of 35+ scientists, dosimetrists, engineers & technicians providing a full range of complex radiotherapy services at both, Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals.
The service has 5 Varian TrueBeam linacs, a CT scanner, an Xstrahl superficial unit and an Elekta Flexitron unit. Two of the TrueBeam linacs also have an ExacTrac and the 1 has VisionRT. The department delivers stereotactic cranial radiotherapy (SRS), on the TrueBeam STx and SABR for a range of sites. Planning is carried out on Raystation, Eclipse, Elements (SRS) and Oncentra Brachy.
The department has excellent experience in delivering education and training in medical physics at all levels; STP and HSST, and hosts the London North Medical Physics Training Consortium. The department also has close links with Imperial College with staff appointed as Honorary Lecturers and delivering modules on M.Sc. programmes.
The department is active with research with direct staff involvement with on-going clinical trials and has a positive attitude towards CPD being pro-active in funding training and educational opportunities including leadership courses.
Provide scientific support to all areas of the radiotherapy physics service at the Charing Cross and Hammermsith Hospital sites. Provide highly complex scientific expertise and advice to other staff groups including Clinical Oncologists and Radiographers.
Work within the multi-disciplinary team to provide patient treatments of the highest quality using the latest technology and techniques. Participate in and lead projects to evaluate and commission new equipment, software and treatment techniques. Participate in research, service evaluation and audits.
