Summary


We are seeking a general paediatric surgery consultant to join our dynamic and friendly department at the Chelsea & Westminster and St Mary’s Hospitals, part of West London Children’s Healthcare.

This post is for general paediatric surgeon with focus in general surgery of childhood and acute paediatric and neonatal surgery take. Candidates are expected to be trained and qualified in general paediatric and neonatal surgery. The successful applicant will join our team providing excellent care to our local children and families across the paediatric surgery sites in West London. The appointee will receive mentoring and support from the team of paediatric surgery consultants.

The post is for 10 sessions and will provide on-call cover at the Chelsea site cover paediatric and neonatal surgery as part of the service.



The role will involve day-time attending (1:6) in C&W and out-of-hours on-call duties at Chelsea (1:5).

Elective work will include general paediatric surgery and clinics and operating lists in Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.



On 1st April 2022, paediatric and child health services across Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust came together under a single and integrated governance and leadership structure accountable to the Trust Board’s for both organisations.

Together we have an ambitious vision to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people across West London. We will do this by supporting our two previously quite separate clinical teams to come together to work collaboratively on common care pathways and to build stronger, shared links with research and education colleagues at Imperial College.

WLCH has been founded to provide specialist paediatric and child healthcare in West and North West London, and to improve the health and wellbeing of the children we serve by moving beyond the boundaries of our individual organisations to deliver truly integrated care.
