Summary

The Head of Digital Services at Langley School works across both our Prep (Taverham) and Senior (Loddon) sites, working as part of a collaborative team demonstrating both curiosity and creativity to assess and continuously improve our digital function for both learning delivery and integrated digital solution for all service users.
This position is for 52 weeks of the year, 37.5 hours per week (full-time).

Purpose and Job Specification

The Head of Digital Services will be an IT ‘all-rounder’ who can listen, adapt and contribute to Digital and IT strategy to support our Business and Academic needs.
Work collaboratively with fellow business leads and academic staff to deliver service improvements, develop our digital infrastructure, negotiate purchasing and continuously improve the service user experience.
Support and advise the COO regarding the quality and reliability of our IT systems. Seek out credible and competitive hardware/software solutions whilst looking for efficiencies and assessing performance for further development.
Involvement in procuring digital solutions to support our business needs. Have an established network of relevant contacts and be able to earn trust, build confidence and form key partnerships to maintain string relationships with all stakeholders.
Influence key decision making and have a thorough understanding of service user and digital systems capabilities.
Line manage a team of IT and Data specialists across our two sites to ensure the smooth running of our IT Network and access for our staff.
Lead on information security and digital security of our systems.
Hold a keen interest in people. Managing your team, identifying growth and development opportunities so that staff maintain continued professional development, hone their expertise, are free to innovate and problem solve to actively contribute to this essential business service.
Deliver in-house ‘on the job’ training either virtually or face to face to staff, to improve the use and understanding of systems.
Work with the Marketing Team to support our digital development and presence within social media and digital delivery environments.
Work with the COO to shape the vision, directions, performance and digital future of the school.
Liaise closely with the Leadership Team to ensure our IT strategy supports the academic aspirations of the teaching and learning teams.

Skills and Experience

Professional qualification or evidence of up-to-date knowledge and experience in a similar role.
Awareness of teaching and learning, and integration with schemes of work with digital services.
Familiarity with management information systems packages and office IT systems, and competent with a variety of digital platforms.
Experience of working in a project environment and supporting IT decision making.
Demonstrable negotiation, relationship building and stakeholder management.
Written and oral communication skills honed to ensure clarity of messages to a range of service users and abilities.
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, staff and pupils.
Ability to manage processes and people to ensure deadlines are met and service delivery targets exceeded.
Willingness to innovate and share good practices – able to offer robust solutions and support.
