Job Title: Care Leaver Housing Officer
Location: Kent
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm)
Salary: £27,000.00 - £35,000.00 per annum
Purpose of the Role:
You will assist in the delivery of a comprehensive, professional and dynamic accommodation service. Individually complete internal audits of your property portfolio and report findings to your Team Manager. The audit and compliance piece will assess business processes and risks, recommending and driving through improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Property Management:
- Plan and prioritise inspections and audits of the property portfolio.
- Report property defects and ensure maintenance meets contractual standards.
- Prepare properties for re-occupation and manage the termination process.
- Oversee inventory management and replace or repair items as needed.
Compliance and Safety:
- Maintain property standards in line with health and safety guidelines.
- Assist in planning and scheduling fire risk assessments.
- Ensure proper record-keeping and data processing related to compliance.
Support and Collaboration:
- Liaise with social services and other professionals to address service delivery and accommodation issues.
- Manage a caseload of young people, ensuring they understand house rules and reporting functions.
- Provide support and training to team members, covering for staff absences when needed.
Communication and Reporting:
- Attend meetings to present audit findings and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external parties, maintaining up-to-date records.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous housing experience or knowledge is essential.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to manage a large geographical area.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as the role involves daily travel
