We have an exciting opportunity for a Dental Nurse to join our team.

• To work closely with Consultants, Specialists, Dental Officers and Dental Therapists to ensure the smooth running of the service and high standards in patient care
• To be prepared to travel to any clinic site within regional area as required by the Senior Dental Nurse Manager or Dental Nurse Manager
• Perform a range of work activities appropriate to that of an experienced or qualified dental nurse
• Maintenance of dental equipment
• To ensure clinic meets all Health & Safety requirements and precautions, including quality assurance, decontamination of instruments and maintenance of equipment.
• To carry out reception/administration duties
• To provide advice to patients and public on oral health matters.
• Responsible in following Trust Policy & local protocol
• To maintain high professional standards with a commitment to compulsory & continual professional development, as outlined by GDC and as applicable to Statutory Registration
• Liaise with doctors, dentists and care staff in clinics, hospitals and residential homes respecting their particular contributions within the care team
• Maintain accurate, computerised and paper dental records of patients to comply with the Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust policies
• To conform to all Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust and Special Care Dentistry policies, procedures and guidelines
• Provide nursing cover at short notice and possibly for an extended period at any clinic throughout the county/ within regional area), (including the administrative responsibilities usually undertaken by the dental nurse in post) if alternate cover cannot be appointed
• Participate in supervision in line with trust policy
• Participate in evidence collation for The Care Quality Commission (CQC)

Sussex Community FT - Special Care Dental Service is looking to recruit enthusiastic, flexible and self-motivated Qualified Dental Nurses to work at busy dental clinic based at Crawley hospital, there is also a requirement to support our other dental clinics across Sussex.

We are looking for enthusiastic dental nurses who have excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical skills, who work well within a team environment to support the needs of other dental colleagues.

We provide Special Care dentistry across five sites within West Sussex and East Sussex for adults and children with additional needs in a variety of settings including Hospitals, community dental clinics, and domiciliary care.

Continued Professional Development is also provided to support you in your role and to help meet current GDC/CPD requirements.
