Summary
Shift Support Operative
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Lancashire Renewables Ltd for an individual to join the Operations team as Shift Support Operative at our Thornton Facility.
Who are we?
Lancashire Renewables Ltd was established for the operation and management of the two waste treatment facilities built for the Lancashire Waste Contract.
Our two facilities in Thornton and Leyland are manned 365 days a year. Both sites can process over 5,000 tonnes of residual (black bin bag) waste per week and divert 95% of this material away from landfill.
Our aim is to achieve a sustainable future for Lancashire by providing services to process biodegradable and non-biodegradable community waste and our people are vital in helping us achieve this.
Our employees work in a variety of operations, maintenance, logistics and support roles across our two sites in Leyland and Thornton, actively encouraging internal growth through development and training programmes.

Job Summary:
As Shift Support Operative, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of Lancashire Renewable’s Operations, providing support to the different operational functions as required.
The Shift Support Operatives will be instrumental in maintaining the seamless continuity of Lancashire Renewables Limited's operations. This role entails a diverse array of responsibilities, spanning across multiple functions within the company. Serving as a flexible and dependable asset, the postholder will adeptly adapt to meet the evolving demands of the business, ensuring the smooth delivery of services. Operating in accordance with the organisation's policies, procedures, and safety protocols, the Shift Support Operatives will uphold efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of their work, contributing significantly to the company's overall success.
Whilst training and development is provided and encouraged, please see below for the minimum requirements of the role:
• GCSE Qualification in Maths and English.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels within the business and outside agencies.
• Knowledge of Weighbridge operations and associated applications.
• Duty of Care Awareness
• Control Room operations.
• Business system awareness.
