Milton Keynes College have an exciting opportunity for a part time Library Assistant to be involved in delivering library and learning resource services to residents at HMP Fosse Way, Leicester. The working hours for this role would be Wednesday and Thursday 11.00 - 19.30 and Friday 08.10 - 16.40.
The role as Library Assistant has several key elements which include developing a high-quality library service within the prison, supporting and developing activities with partner agencies - such as the Shannon Trust “Turning Pages” scheme, Reading Ahead, and selecting and acquiring library resources in consultation with colleagues and users to enable a vibrant provision.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to assist in the day-to-day running of the prison library. If you possess excellent communication and organisational skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to promote reading to learners and provide a high standard of service to all library users.

ABOUT HMP FOSSE WAY
HMP Fosse Way is a brand new, purpose built Resettlement Prison based in the Glen Parva area of Leicester. The prison is operated by Serco with Milton Keynes College as their strategic education provider. We are recruiting for talented and creative professionals to join the new Education team based in the prison, with education being delivered Mon-Fri between 8:10-16:40.
Due to HMP Fosse Way being brand new, education staff benefit from working in a new prison with up to date facilities, new resources and equipment. You are able to access the prison gym free of charge, as well as free lunch being available to staff on site.
