About the role
We are looking for a Democratic Support Assistant to join our innovative and high performing team to provide effective and flexible support across Democratic Services, Mayoral & Councillor Support, and Electoral Services.
You will support open and transparent democracy by webcasting our Council and Committee meetings as part of the webcast rota. You will also provide both project specific and ad-hoc support to the Democratic Services and Electoral Services teams, particularly at peak times. Additionally, this role will also provide specialist assistance to all Councillors, including the Mayor. The successful candidate will also be excited to support several high-profile civic events, including Remembrance Day, the Mayor’s Civic Service and Beating the Bounds.

You will be a key member of the team and will:
Have a strong work ethic, and great attention to detail
Be able to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently
Enjoy a varied role that works collaboratively across different services
Effectively coordinate team related administration and business
Previous experience in Democratic or Electoral Services is not an essential requirement as comprehensive training will be provided.
