ORTHOPAEDIC FELLOW CT/ST 1/2 LEVEL – available for up to 12 months commencing as soon as possible - August 2024.

The Trauma and Orthopaedics Unit at Royal Derby comprises 8 purpose-built state of the art laminar flow theatres as well as dedicated outpatient clinic facilities for both Trauma and Elective patients.

As one of the largest Orthopaedic Departments in the country, the full spectrum of orthopaedic and trauma surgery is performed by leading sub-specialty surgeons, including foot and ankle, lower limb, upper limb and spinal surgery. You would cover all aspects of the sub specialties throughout your time here

This position will offer suitable candidates full educational support; Educational Supervisor, funded study leave and paid courses as appropriate. Funding of up to £5,000 per annum will also be available to assist with continued orthopaedic training and qualifications. There is a full and comprehensive weekly in house educational teaching programme.



Applications are invited for this unique post which offers advanced training and experience in orthopaedics. The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department actively encourages participation in clinical audits and we have a dedicated audit team to assist fellows with this important part of the role.

All posts are team based and have a dedicated consultant, registrar level and junior doctor. Posts offer the opportunity for research, theatre sessions, including trauma, all clinics and teaching. The Orthopaedic Fellow will be directly involved in the day to day care of the Trauma and Orthopaedic patients admitted to their firm. There is a day to day commitment to clinics and operating sessions.
