Teaching Personnel are working with one of our partner secondary schools who are looking to appoint a Senior Student Support Officer to join their passionate and hard-working pastoral team. You will be responsible for supporting one of the Heads of Year in leading on all pastoral support for a designated year group. This will involve supporting students with specific intervention needs, monitoring and improving attendance, and supporting a positive climate for learning within the year group. You will be the first port of call for students and their parents, and will help support families through early intervention.

This role provides the chance to make a significant contribution to the schools ambitious plan to deliver an outward looking centre of excellence which will support and contribute to the inclusion agenda, transforming the educational and life-long opportunities of all their children. The school will support and provide training for their new Senior Student Support Officer to specialise in a particular intervention (e.g. lego therapy, anger management, restorative practice) and they will tailor this dependent upon the successful candidate's experience and interest.

We would particularly welcome applications from individuals who have experience of a similar type of role in a secondary school. We are especially interested in hearing from you if you can demonstrate the experience and skills of working with large cohorts of children. Flexibility, resilience and optimism is essential for this role.
