Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield with flexibility to work from home

As an Information Manager (Content, Collections and Library System Support) at the University of Hertfordshire, you will play a crucial role in support the full “knowledge lifecycle” of acquisition, organisation, storage, dissemination, discovery and use of library and learning resources, (such as print books and eBooks, ejournals etc) utilising recognised standards, and new and evolving technologies.

Working collaboratively with colleagues on the development, implementation and support of the library’s technical solutions and systems used for the management, delivery and retrieval of online information resources and their integration with other University services.

We envisage the successful candidate will have extensive theoretical, practical and procedural knowledge of the concepts, principles and practice of library technical services with a desire / willingness to develop some further knowledge to maintain and support the main library systems (such as the Library Management, Access management, and Discovery Platform systems), under the support and guidance of the Library Technology Consultant (Systems Librarian)

Main duties and responsibilities
Your responsibilities include supporting the development and implementation of high-quality, customer-focused services in acquisitions, cataloguing, classification, and metadata management. In addition, working closely with the Library Technology Consultant (Systems Librarian) you will administer, maintain, and support the main Library Information Systems.

You will contribute to developing effective policies and procedures, ensure service level agreements are fulfilled, and help set and maintain standards. Additionally, you will assist in the provision of training for library staff, adapting to the evolving needs of the Service.

Skills and experience required
You will have experience of working in an information / Library service at an appropriate level of responsibility, and proven expertise and experience in the discovery, delivery, application and use of information to meet academic and /or business requirements.

Qualifications required
A graduate with Postgraduate professional qualification in librarianship or information science or equivalent experience.
