An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our Cancer Services Team, within the Corporate Division of the Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust.

The Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance (CMCA) leads the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan ambitions for cancer across our local system through collaboration with partners with the aim of improving outcomes for patients and improving performance against key operational standards.

This role involves supporting the Cancer Project Manager with the development and delivery of the Rapid Diagnostic Service (RDS) projects. It requires the post holder to be in close contact with the RDS team members and provide key business intelligence support to the RDS team/project.

The successful applicant will be employed within the WUTH Cancer Services Team but will also receive appropriate professional and technical training/support from the trusts Digital Healthcare Team (DHT).

The job will be based at Clatterbridge Hospital but will involve cross site working between Clatterbridge Hospital and Arrowe Park Hospital.

The working pattern will be Monday to Friday, 6 hours per day, 9am to 3:30pm. Each day will include a half hour unpaid break.

Secondments will be considered but applicants must seek their current line managers/employers approval before applying for the role.
• Implement new report developments and reporting changes for the Business Intelligence Team, especially within the area of the development, scheduling and publication of reporting solutions and complex reporting processes.
• Provide support to the Senior BI developers regarding the maintenance, repair and upgrade of appropriate reporting software i.e. Microsoft PowerBI, WUTH Business Intelligence portal.
• A Business Intelligence reporting tools to the wider team and other users across WUTH.
• Assist the BI Developers in the creation and maintenance of a suite of data models used to support the effective analysis/interpretation of NHS Data to meet the local/national reporting specifications and requirements of the Trust.
• Responsible for gathering reporting requirements from staff across the trust and converting those requirements into business intelligence portal reports or automated reporting outputs e.g. scheduled emails, etc.
• Working closely with senior developers to design and implement the most appropriate solutions to deliver a fit for purpose data warehouse and data architecture.
• Develop key skills in own area to enhance career development at WUTH (information management, SQL, MS PowerBI, operational/clinical service expertise, etc).
• Will need to communicate with all levels of staff within the Trust and
representatives from external organisations.
• Will need to communicate IM&T concepts of a highly complex nature to other parts of the Digital Healthcare Team.
