Job Description:

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Finance Officer to join our team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to provide essential finance support and processing services to various clients, ensuring an effective, efficient, and customer-focused service delivery within required KPIs and timescales.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide finance support/processing services for direct payments, provider payments, deferred payments, and assessments (residential and non-residential).
Interpret and manage financial advice within local policies and national guidance.
Manage complex data, ensuring compliance with policies and national guidance.
Prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively to support service user complaints/requests.
Communicate effectively with outside bodies such as legal service organizations.
Handle routine correspondence and telephone inquiries related to service users' financial details and provider payments.
Manage daily incoming and outgoing post within agreed timescales and deadlines.
Review and update procedures to improve quality and consistency.
Maintain effective working relationships with staff, service providers, service users, and other professionals.
Maintain computer and manual filing systems.
Perform other duties within the general scope of the post as agreed with the post holder.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum one year of experience in a financial environment, preferably in the public sector.
Experience prioritizing work to meet performance targets and deadlines.
Effective communication skills with customers and colleagues at different levels.
Ability to process data accurately and meet deadlines.
Good customer care skills.
Proficiency in using financial systems and Microsoft Excel and Word.
Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
Ability to manage own workload and assist team members as needed.
Understanding of financial procedures and confidentiality.
Experience with computerized financial systems in a large organization.
