Applications are invited for Specialty Doctors in Restorative Dentistry to join the vibrant Restorative Dentistry team at Croydon University.
Croydon University Hospital has recently invested in a brand new clinical area including modern surgeries and equipment, and a brand new PGMC phantom head teaching room through Health Education England. There is one full time and one part time consultant in post striving to establish national and international reputation for clinical excellence and innovation. Informal training and supervision are available as required.
The posts are available part time and would, ideally, suit dentists looking for restorative clinical, teaching and managerial hospital experience. The appointees will be expected to contribute to providing clinical and managerial service in their monospecialty.
The Department of Restorative Dentistry forms part of the Trust’s Cancer and Surgical Directorate, which provides a comprehensive range of multidisciplinary clinical services in the major dental specialities.
The suggested job plan is included in the job description.
Are you the person we are looking for to complete our team?
Currently, the department has 3 Consultant led specialties; Orthodontics, Restorative Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery incorporating Oral Surgery. There is a further Consultant in Paediatric
Dentistry post in development. Each department provides an advice and treatment service to the local GDPs, specialists and the other hospital departments.
The unit is actively involved in teaching and training in all three disciplines. This is mainly at Dental
Foundation, Specialty Registrar and Post-CCST levels, but there are a number of Specialty Doctors
working in the unit, and the department has close links with primary care postgraduate training.
