To support the organisation by delivering first class Customer Support with effective Transport Planning, delivering a 100% delivery success rate. Role responsibilities:
Vehicle Planning
• Planning of 6 internal 3.5t curtain Luton vans and some external carriers efficiently using a transport planning software.
• Costings and future planning
• Previous experience in multi drop planning or pallet network planning is a MUST
• Ensuring that time windows and delivery timings are adhered to
• Managing and planning of emergency orders
• Liaising with Customer Services and customers for service related queries
• Ensuring customer demand is met by proactively managing driver resource Vs vehicle requirements.
• Prioritising workload, route planning driver brief and de-brief
• Strong organisational skills and great time management capabilities.
• Ability to work flexibly and to make decisions quickly
• Maintain computerised system such as Workwave/POD Father. Have the skills to use excel spread sheets
• Good geographical knowledge
• A good understanding of transport regulations currently in force
Customer Service
• Focuses on delivering an excellent customer experience. You must also have good customer services skills to deal day-to-day with all enquiries and cultivate relationships with customers and drivers
• Identifying potential issues by actively checking due deliveries are on time and creating cases using CRM for carriers if they are unable to deliver, this includes own fleet
• At all times maintain a professional attitude, and represent the company in an appropriate manner. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and excellent customer service
KPI Reporting
• Updating costing spreadsheets and communicating with management on performance
• KPI reporting on delivery success and failure - updating internal Drivers and external carrier KPIs
• Providing daily/weekly and monthly KPI reports using CRM system
• Proactively work to reduce late deliveries and missed time slots
Drivers
• Briefing and debriefing drivers to ensure that all instructions for their allocated runs are understood and actioned – this includes feedback from errors made and updates
• Making sure that operational procedures and general housekeeping are kept to a high standard
• Booking driver agency staff depending on workload
• Keep Fleet serviced and vehicles running at all times
Desired Skills & Qualities:
• Previous experience of any Transport Planning Software
• Excellent communication skills
• Real team player who thrives in a fast-paced, busy, and challenging environment.
• Previous experience of working within a transport planning department is essential
• Implement the company’s Health and Safety Policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within the Warehouse.
Hours of work: 9:00am to 5:00pm with half an hour lunch break.
Apprenticeship standard: Customer Service Practitioner Level 2.

Death in Service Cover: 4 x Salary.
Income Protection: 75% of salary less state benefits.
Holidays: Annual leave is 25 days and 8 Bank Holidays. The holiday entitlement is for each complete year, running from 1st January to 31st December and is accrued on a pro rata basis
