Summary
The School of Science and Engineering has an international reputation for excellent teaching and topical research, particularly in addressing global challenges in energy, the environment, health care, technology, forensic science and infrastructure.
This appointment is key member of the School's professional services team and will be based within the School's Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification (CAHID). Anatomy and forensic anthropology are core activities of the University of Dundee's award-winning Centre. CAHID offers a suite of programmes in forensic anthropology, anatomy, medical art, forensic art and forensic archaeology at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
Your priorities will include:
- Liaise directly with the Centre Manager to ensure the requirements of the annual cycle of Centre administrative activities are met, develop an understanding of the relevant bequeathal procedures and policies, and ensure implementation and adherence across the body donation programme
- Act as the principal point of contact for Centre and MSI Building activities, liaising with academics, central services, external stakeholders, as well as current and prospective students, dealing with queries (e.g. access) and making referrals as appropriate
- Responsible for administration of the Centre's generic email inboxes, fielding queries from police services, potential forensic cases, and Thiel Cadaver Facility requests, making referrals as appropriate
Who we're looking for:
- Excellent liaison skills, with the ability to manage complex relationships with a wide range of individuals (including senior staff) within the University
- Ability to interpret and implement relevant anatomical legislation and bequeathal procedures
- Liaison skills with nuanced social and interpersonal skills and an empathetic approach in dealing with individuals such as donors and relatives
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including evidence of team working and the ability to be proactive in responding to the needs of staff and students
