Your new role


You will be an Environmental Advisor on their A47 highway project: a high-profile project in the pre-construction phase. As the project is not yet on site, you'll be desk based initially with a view to a greater Norwich presence. As this role is currently desk based, they are open to taking someone on for 3 months UK wide. However, after that time frame they will look to employ someone in the Norwich area. (Applications from Norwich are eligible for a longer contract due to this)
You will work with the Environmental Manager to deliver sustainability targets that achieve the aims of the projects' sustainability strategy. You will be ensuring environmental compliance across all major environmental aspects - and providing advice and guidance to various teams to help achieve this.
Main duties:

  • Provide environmental compliance advice on key environmental issues relating to the highways project
  • Support the delivery of Development Consent Order
  • Use knowledge of legislation to develop environmental project management plans
  • Liaise with internal and external specialist to ensure timely delivery of environmental measures
  • Become involved with construction method statements
  • Lead environmental inspections



What you'll need to succeed


  • A degree level in an appropriate environmental or relevant discipline
  • Environmental Advisor / Manager experience (preferably highways)
  • Be able to hit the ground running and use project management experience to ensure timely delivery
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel
  • CSCS card (ideal)
  • NEBOSH / CIEEM membership (Ideal)
