We are looking for a Wedding and Events Coordinator who will report to the Cluster Meeting and Events Manager and is available to work 40 hours typically between Monday and Friday (some additional hours may be required at times, approximately 1 weekend shift per month is expected). This is a cluster role giving you the chance to work between our voco Grand Central Hotel and Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel!
The Wedding and Events Coordinator will have responsibility for optimising the use of event spaces at all times, whilst ensuring revenue is captured. Events Coordinator’s enhance the overall guest experience by effectively handling event bookings once contracted by our Events Sales Coordinators to the completion of the event. You will respond to all queries (via phone or email) and complete all arrangements to ensure the smooth running of our events (whilst communicating details to the wider operations team).
You will work to ensure that our guest’s expectations are being constantly met and exceeding, promoting our hotels and services at all time to maximise business. As part of your role, you will be responsible for carrying out Hotel showrounds (for potential weddings or events bookings), attend weekly meetings and appointments and prepare all paperwork for events including invoices and function sheets.

You’ll be called upon to complete a wide variety of tasks and jobs within the hotel and it’s extremely important that you remain flexible and versatile around this. To thrive in this role, the key skills & experience you’ll ideally already have are:
- Strong skills in organisation and planning, you will be someone with a high level of attention to detail and able to manage multiple events and clients at one time
- A self-motivator, excited by maximising revenue and business for our hotels with in depth skills in IT and systems
- Experience of wedding co-ordination is desired
- You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills, able to make rapport with various clients and manage expectations to always meet and exceed what is needed
- Overall, someone who is ready to get stuck into a busy role supporting the various events we host at our hotels – and work as a team to maximise revenue!
